Relationship, Commitment and The Players

Hi! It's surely been a long time that I live my life without writing something. Finally, I have this urge that I really need to write this one and also share my experiences (or others) on this topic.

If you think that this topic is way too mainstream or will bored you, skip it! But if you dare to be bored, WELCOME ABOARD.

"Every person and relationship is different, and there's no magic phrase or action that can 'get' someone to commit," Terri Trespicio

AMEN

Building a relationship or commitment, IMHO, is like building a momentum. You just can't say "marry me, pretty please?" or "it's time for you to give the title to our relationship or I will step away from it." It's like going to a party, music blaring and the DJ playing the most fav. hits and POW! BLACKOUT. Not. Fun.

How can I bring up that topic cause we're human? We need A TITLE to put our mind and heart at ease. I want me to be his (or her if you're a guy reading this post) one and only. The one that he calls at night, his shoulder to cry on, all that touchy things..

"Be yourself. Show him or her your values. Show how exciting your life is with or without him. Show you care but create a little mystery. If he doesn't see how special you are-RUN!" Isni Marina

I laugh at myself when I put my thoughts into that quote. Really, Nay? Is it only a theory of yours or that's the way you live your life?

It was a theory, it was just a quote until one day.

I was in a of relationship before where I was so attracted to this particular person. We were having a good time, hanging out, getting to know each other's habit and personality. Except for one thing. He's in a relationship.

Judge me. Condemned me to hell. You can call me a home wrecker (with Marina & The Diamonds as the background music). But hey, two players are involved in this game. The difference about us was JUST the title. He was in a relationship, I wasn't.
Why did I agree to be involved in that kind of relationship (please note that it was my first time to get that home wrecker title)?
The logic and the heart was in a battle first; should I or shouldn't I? and as predicted, the heart won. I was ignoring the fact that he was in a relationship.

The logic follow later.

I woke up one day and that quote, started to grow on me. I was trying to be mysterious and showed myself how excited my life with or without him. I wanted to see whether he can put a title on us; NOT HAPPENING. I realized then it's time for me to run, flee, hop, rolling, whatever. I also need to thanked my ex cos I was talking to him about this situation and he spontaneously said "NO WAY! You are too good for him! Don't let him take advantage of you!" and that, my friends, the logic talked. Without being narcissistic or whatever, I know that it's not good for me to be in that kind of relationship. What's the point? Hoping that one day he'll broke up with his girl and I'll be the replacement? NAH, thanks.

I solely write this post cos I just want to say the naked truth. For all the players out there, what I'm saying is, you can't force someone to leave the party if he doesn't want to. leave him be and just watch what would he do if you're leaving that party with somebody else. If doesn't make any move, then you're the one who supposed to call it off. Look at the bright side, someone else's willing to leave the party with you! (and he's checking out others. Good for him)

And when he's lingering around in putting that title but you're craving for the "couple" title, make him put it in a classy way. You know, show your values, be who you are, laugh as much as you want, if you're going to fart, fart in a classy way (asking permission is a classy way, no?).

Trying to be someone you're not is so transparent, dear.

If that person can accept us the way we are, then maybe you'll find the pure kind we all dream of.

Cheers,

Nay

Milani Baked Blushes!

Ladies, let’s admit that we are in a restless searching of that perfect blush that will make our cheeks look healthy and at the same time, pinch-able (or kissable..or..suckable like those xiao long paos.....). Matte blushes are nice if you have very shimmery eyes and don’t want to go overboard. On the other hand, blushes with chunky glitters can emphasize your pores and make you look like a disco ball (unless you want to go to 70’s party or all that jazz). Then, how can I have that right amount of flush??

So, without any further ado, let me introduce you to amazing drugstore blushes that I am currently LOVING: Milani Baked Blush in Corallina and Luminoso.

I picked baked blush because it has been said that they last longer than traditional blushes since makeup companies actually produced them by heating colored makeup liquid on terra cotta tiles (sounds fancy, right?). They are retail around $7-$8 (around 80-100IDR) weigh around 0.12 ounces or 3.5 grams. So, I ended up give them a try and now they are like my Holy Grail blushes! Not only are they pigmented and gorgeous, but they also have the right shimmer and buildable, too.

Corallina described as shimmery coral and Luminoso is a slightly shimmery peach. As you can see from the picture wayyyy above, as a proof that I have been using Luminoso a lot, the writing on the package has already gone! Pooff! And do notice the stunning colors in the pan. Ohlala as if they can instantly brighten up your look!

Don’t be scared of the shimmer that Corallina showed given that once you apply it, it is barely there and it will give you a right amount of flush of color to your face. The shimmery peach above Corallina is Luminoso. You can achieve that beautiful glowy peachy healthy look with this blush. This is the one that I use everyday along with my matte bronzer because it really does have subtle shimmer and striking finish. I have oily skin but believe me this blush won’t make you look like you’ve been cooking fried chicken in a kitchen (hey, it rhymes!).

I found it so-so in terms of the packaging. Quite compact and has mirror and a brush inside. I don’t really like the brush because it is not as soft as my sigma one but it is a good alternative if I don't bring my other brush.

What do you think about these blushes?

Have you tried other Milani blushes?

Some nuggets..

  • I sold my naked palette (I KNOW!! WHY, NAY, WHY!)... because I thought I'm gonna get Lorac Pro. I've been doing some research and stumbled upon ELF studio endless eyes pro mini palette in classic that said to be naked dupe. The best thing is, it costs around $6 only. Hmm. Temptation is everywhere...
  • I want to make deep fried oreos. yums!
  • Or maybe corn dogs..

FOTD with NYX for your eyes only palette

Hi! It's me again. This is a  quick review on NYX for your eyes only "smokey eyes" palette. I found this palette hidden under other thingys. I really like it since it's versatile and I bought it out of my obsession over Jersey girl's smokey eyes.

As you can see, the packaging is very sleek and slim. There are 10 eyeshadows inside it with mixes of shimmers, satin or frost finish. I find that all of the shadows are pigmented, buttery with amazing color pay off! It's not too shabby for $15 or 160.000IDR.

Here are the swatches with and without primer:

and here is my EOTD using the NYX smokey palette. Let me know if you want me to do tutorial for this look.

Cheerios!

Benefit "They're Real" Mascara

Have you ever dreamt of having thick and long eyelashes? I have and I will forever dream of these natural and thick lashes. The problem is, I can’t really use false eyelashes because I have very sensitive eyes. If I wear them, my eyes will turn red like one of those scary vampires (minus the fangs).

Now, after having so many affairs with countless mascara, I will introduce my favorite one at the moment; Benefit “they’re real” mascara.

On their website, Benefit proclaim that: "They're real! lengthens, curls, volumizes, lifts & seperates. Our jet black, long-wearing formula won't smudge or dry out. A specially designed brush reveals lashes you never knew you had!"

The packaging itself is very cool and edgy with silver metallic color. I feel like every single penny that I spent for this mascara is worth it. The claims on Benefit's carton really catch my attention. Will it really live to the claims?

To be honest, I'm not a big fan of the wand itself. There is a lot of product protruding from the end of the wand. It forces me to clean the product if I want to use the small spikes at the end. In my opinion, it's such a wast of great product and I don't like that.

To be honest, I'm not a big fan of the wand itself. There is a lot of product protruding from the end of the Will it really live to the claims? Overall, I think it lives to the claims (at least for me) and it makes me say "Oh my God, they're real!". I love it but, I won't repurchase this mascara again. I think I can find another one that will give same end result as this one with cheaper price.

And so the journey still continues...
